The Crypto community remembers important figures in Bitcoin history. Hal Finney is widely considered one of the top candidates for Nakamoto at, a pseudonym creator of Bitcoin.
Twelve years ago, Hal Finney made his last post on the Bitcoin Forum before he left the public eye.
Bitcoin historian Pete Rizzo highlighted this in a recent tweet.

American software developer Finney was an early Bitcoin contributor and received his first Bitcoin deal from Nakamoto Satoshi.
In March 2013, Finney revealed on Bitcointalk, a Bitcoin forum, in an article entitled “Bitcoin and Me (Hal Finney)” that he was in fact paralyzed. Despite his condition, he has been actively working in Bitcoin’s development and growing community, returning for health.
In August 2013, Finney later made his final post on the Bitcoin Forum, logging off forever. Finney’s departure occurred about a year later, on August 28, 2014, in the fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Satoshi’s Mystery
The mystery of Satoshi’s true identity remains unsolved, years after Finney’s public eye and the public’s death.
Several prominent individuals, including Hal Finney, are the subject of speculation. Finney was the first person other than Satoshi, downloading and running Bitcoin software, and receiving Bitcoin first. Nevertheless, he denied being Satoshi until his death in 2014.
The first Bitcoin was mined on January 3, 2009. A few years after publishing the Bitcoin white paper and mining the Genesis block, Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, disappeared from the scene.
Satoshi emailed another Bitcoin developer on April 23, 2011, informing him that he had “moved to something else” and that cryptocurrency was a “good hand.” Since then, there has been no communication from the previously known email address of the founder of Bitcoin.
