Microbt opens an online shop with monthly production capacity of 10,000 Whatsminer

The move takes a further step by a deep Shenzhen-based manufacturer localizes its operations in response to the changing dynamics of US tariffs and institutional demand for China’s mining hardware.

By producing machines domestically, MicroBT said it can eliminate import duties and international shipping costs while also providing faster delivery and local after-sales support.

MicroBT claims that its US supply chain supports monthly power output of over 10,000 units. They also established service centers and duty-free storage facilities on both coasts, promised responses within 24 hours and established three official repair hubs with repairs completed within 7 business days.

Microbt began investing in US manufacturing in 2021 with its manufacturing partner overview, several years before Washington imposed sudden tariffs on Chinese-made mining rigs as part of a wider trade friction with Beijing. These duties, combined with higher shipping costs, longer lead times and suppressed Bitcoin mining hashprice, have been focusing on institutional demand for mining hardware from major Chinese manufacturers since the beginning of this year.

Rival Bitmain has similarly explored US land congressional and logistics centers, but Canaan runs a domestic production pilot and has recently partnered with Luxor to fund the sale of Avalons to American miners. Meanwhile, Bitdeer said he is leveraging its presence in Texas to expand its equipment deployment and actively prepares for US manufacturing capabilities.
