According to data released today, CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju announced that the majority of investors currently trading in the Bitcoin futures market are comprised of retail investors.
CryptoQuant CEO: Retail investors are now major players in the Bitcoin futures market
According to data shared by Zhu, the average order value for Bitcoin futures was around $6,000 at the beginning of this year, but has now fallen to $2,000.
This situation shows that the influence of professional and institutional investors in the market is decreasing, while the share of small investors in trading volume is increasing.
Experts say this decline in average order size shows the market is favoring more prudent short-term positions. Additionally, increased interest from retail investors during periods of high volatility can increase the risk of leveraged trading.
CryptoQuant CEO Ju also emphasized in statements in recent months that retail investors are playing an increasingly important role in determining market trends.
