Transaction activity on the Ethereum network has reached an all-time high. According to Etherscan data, the number of daily transactions on Ethereum mainnet reached an all-time high of 2,595,176 on January 14, 2026. This number represents a significant increase compared to the same period last year and shows that network usage continues to increase.
The number of new addresses added to the Ethereum network on the same day also reached an impressive level. According to the data, a total of 481,481 new addresses were created on January 14th. This increase not only shows that existing users are performing more transactions, but also that new participants are entering the Ethereum ecosystem strongly. Experts believe this is an important indicator of increasing network penetration and ecosystem maturation.
This heavy usage of Ethereum is due to the increase in DeFi applications, NFT transactions, on-chain gaming, and enterprise use cases. Furthermore, despite the increasing adoption of layer 2 solutions, record transaction volumes on mainnet demonstrate the continued importance of Ethereum as a core infrastructure. Updates by developers focused on scalability and efficiency are also said to have contributed to the network’s appeal.
Market analysts note that this increase in trading volume could support Ethereum network and validator revenues in the long term. However, the impact of increased usage on gas prices is also being closely monitored. Ethereum is expected to strengthen its position as a centralized blockchain platform for both individual and institutional users, and network activity is expected to remain high.
