human.tech, a privacy-focused infrastructure provider, announced the launch of Wallet-as-a-Protocol on Sui. The new solution, known as WaaP, introduces a decentralized, embedded wallet layer to applications built on top of the network.
This integration allows developers to embed self-custodial wallets directly into their apps using email, phone number, Google Account, or Face ID. This system eliminates the need for seed phrases and eliminates backend storage risks.
WaaP runs on Ika, a censorship-resistant coordination layer built on top of Sui. Transaction policies are enforced through smart contracts rather than relying on a centralized server. Signing authority is divided between the user’s device and the WaaP infrastructure using two-party computation. Neither side can move funds independently.
According to human.tech, its infrastructure supports nearly 3 million authenticated users and more than $500 million in protected value. The company says the expansion to Sui is aimed at supporting further growth in decentralized applications and programmable account capabilities.
