Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, announced it will begin access to Bitcoin on Monday
An option is a derivative agreement that allows the buyer to have the right to buy and sell the underlying assets at a pre-determined price before a specific date. Call options give you the right to buy and represent a bullish bet on the market, while put options provide minus-side protection.
Writing options refer to the sale of calls or puts. This is similar to providing insurance against bullish or bearish price movements on underlying assets. The writer (seller) is compensated for the same in the form of prepaid premiums.
Sleek crypto holders are known to create options to earn extra yields on Spot Market Holdings.
“As the accelerated encryption increases the demand for more sophisticated liquidity tools, we are working to build more comprehensive derivative products to support our users,” commented on the development, Binance’s Vice President of Products.
Binance said it would maintain robust risk management controls and require post-margin margins to ensure that optional writers pass the mandatory conformance assessment and secure the obligation.
The announcement shares a press release from Binance with Coindesk as the broader BTC options market is showing explosive growth, with total trading volume rising 3,200% from $41 billion in 2020 to $1387.6 billion in June 2025.
By enabling a wider user base to create options, Binance aims to enable traders to express market opinions, manage risk, earn advance premiums, and implement strategies that go beyond simple directional bets.
To celebrate the launch, Binance offers a 20% discount on taker and manufacturer fees for all newly listed options agreements, including those of Ether (ETH), BNB (BNB), and Solana
. The exchange also improves its options enhancement programme for large volumes and institutional traders, offering lower qualification thresholds and a more attractive pricing structure.
