According to chain researcher ZachxBT, Exchange Crypto.com covered the attack that caused user data filtration. The attack would have been caused by members of Scattertered Spider, a group of hackers who gained access to the exchange employee credentials in 2022. According to Crypto.com CEO Kris Marszale, Zachxbt’s accusations are “completely unfounded.”
Zachxbt is known for helping to pursue funds stolen by the North Korean Lazarus group and “condemn ripples to defeat the price of XRP,” he denounced the exchange. Do not responsibly reveal database filtration Chris Masluzar blocks him when he asks to explain.
The researcher cited the Bloomberg story confirming that Scattendered Spider violated the Crypto.com database in 2022. But he didn’t find it.
He then said that Chris Marcele blocked him and dedicated a post that he asked the CEO to share a link to spreading the vulnerability in question.
«It’s easy for them to demonstrate that I’m wrong. If the incident publicly reveals it to the community, they can simply share the spreading URL. I also publicly apologize to them. The independent detective said:
Exchange CEO’s response to STIR ensures that hackers do not access user funds and that damage caused is very limited.
I would like to directly and clearly address certain misinformation that are disinformed from uninformed sources… The proposal to notify or spread security incidents is completely unfounded. We have employees in 2023 as we report in notifications of NMLS Data Security Incidents and in additional reports with relevant jurisdictional regulators. It was at risk and affected a very limited number of partially identifiable personal information for users.
Kris Marszale, CEO of Crypto.com
Crypto.com CEO confirmed that he has reported the incident to relevant regulators, but ZachxBT and other users of Social Network X have argued that this is not enough. And it is necessary to clarify vulnerabilities to users of the platform.
