US President Donald Trump said in a statement on the ongoing conflict with Iran that the war could be short. President Trump described the operation against Iran as a “short-term operation” while claiming that the United States has made significant progress in military operations.
President Trump said in a statement that military operations against Iran are progressing faster than expected, adding: “This will be a short-term operation.” President Trump claimed the United States had achieved major successes in the operation, saying, “So far it’s going very well. We accomplished some really important things.”
The US president also claimed that Iran’s drone and missile capabilities have been targeted and nearly neutralized. President Trump claimed that the US military destroyed 46 Iranian naval vessels in just three and a half days.
President Trump suggested the war could end soon, but added that the United States has not yet achieved its objective. “We have not won enough yet,” Trump said, adding that Washington would continue operations until Iran was completely defeated.
President Trump referred to the political situation in Iran, noting that support is forming around a new hard-line leader in the country, but added that it is unclear who Iran’s future leader will be.
Meanwhile, large explosions were reported in Iran’s capital Tehran and fighter jets could be heard over the city.
