Pipe Network developer Permissionless Labs has launched Pipe Firestarter storage. This new feature extends the network to a full stack cloud platform and deploys it as a decentralized alternative to services such as CloudFlare’s R2 and content delivery network (CDN) tools.
Firestarter storage was previously used internally to host full POH archive data and ledger snapshots. Once published, developers can now use the tool to store and distribute data directly over a pipe network. The goal is to provide faster and cheaper performance by using distributed infrastructure instead of relying on centralized providers.
The new storage layer helps developers avoid the delays and costs associated with coordinating with traditional CDNs or other distributed storage solutions. All data remains within the pipe network, and pricing is kept simple to reduce complexity and costs.
The system is optimized for applications that require high-speed data delivery, such as distributed apps, video streaming, NFT storage, and AI workloads.
Pipe Firestarter storage has been released. Pricing starts with one $pipe token per gigabyte of base tier storage. Complete instructions are provided in the official network documentation.
