After a brief stint with X in December, Shiba Inu lead ambassador Shitoshi Kusama has remained quiet on social media.
From December 7th to 8th, 2025, Terutoshi Kusama interacted with several Shiba Inu-related posts on X. Since then, Shiba Inu’s chief ambassador has remained silent about X.
It’s already been three days since 2026, but unlike before when Yayoi Kusama posted a New Year’s message to the Shiba Inu community, we haven’t heard anything from him, leading to speculation that his quiet activities on social media will end soon.
In his end-of-year letter at the end of 2025, SHIB developer Kaal Dhairya talked about some changes that will happen to Shiba Inu in the new year.
Rather than hype, Dahlia wrote, 2026 “will be the year of repair, focus, and building something that will actually last.”
The Shiba Inu developer also talked about pausing or retiring projects, systems, and processes that aren’t generating revenue or breaking even, saying, “If it’s not contributing to the health of our users or keeping our core infrastructure running, then it’s not a priority at this point.”
Shiba Inu rings first green weekly candle in 2026
Shiba Inu recorded its first green weekly candlestick in 2026 as the meme coin soared at the beginning of the year.
Traders are speculating on meme coins as a market opportunity despite uneven liquidity and a lack of clear macroeconomic catalysts.
Shiba Inu also joined the meme coin’s meteoric rise in the market on Friday, as 2026 begins and traders lean into talk of “meme season.” The Shiba Inu soared to a high of $0.00000831 on Friday and extended its strong rally on Thursday.
At the time of writing, SHIB had risen 2.41% to $0.00000792 in the past 24 hours and was up 9.84% for the week. Shiba Inu price is facing decisive resistance at $0.000008. If it breaks above this point, Shiba Inu will aim for $0.000011 and $0.0000148 next.
