The HBAR Foundation is partnering with the founder of Tim Stokely, the internet subscription site OnlyFans, to acquire the Chinese social media app Tiktok.
Stokely and The Hbar Foundation filed bids with the White House last week through the former new family crowdfunding company Zoop.
“Our bid for Tiktok is not just about changing ownership, but creating a new paradigm that directly benefits from the value that both creators and the community generates,” Zoop co-founder RJ Phillips told Reuters.
The HBAR Foundation is the entity behind Hedera (HBAR), the Shoof-of-Stake smart contract platform launched in 2018. With a market capitalization of $7.2 billion, HBAR is the 22nd largest cryptocurrency to exist as Press Time. Coin only responds gently to the news, increasing by 1.5% over the last 24 hours.
The duo’s bids for Tiktok are not just on the market. Online retail giant Amazon (AMZN) is also considering acquiring the platform, according to The New York Times.
