Gewan Holding, part of Abu Dhabi’s NG9 Holding, is partnering with decentralized infrastructure pioneer IOPN to accelerate the development of sovereign AI, blockchain and digital identity solutions in the United Arab Emirates.
Introducing Project Atlas
Conglomerate Gewan Holding in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is partnering with IOPN, a pioneer in decentralized infrastructure, in a collaboration aimed at accelerating the development of sovereign artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain and digital identity solutions. At the heart of this alliance is the deployment of a sovereign AI stack equipped with NVIDIA GPUs and fixed by IOPN’s own OPN chain.
According to a news release, this distributed infrastructure integrates high-performance AI computing with the sovereign digital identity layer, enabling scalable operations that are compliant across the governance, finance, healthcare and real estate sectors. The OPN chain also supports real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, biometric authentication, and modern payment systems. This has halted liquidity and regulatory access to global capital markets.
Alaa Al Ali, group CEO of NG9 Holding, which owns Gewan Holding, highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership.
Collaboration with IOPN and launching Project Atlas is about not just building technology, but ensuring sovereignty and enabling the UAE to shape the digital future.
Developed in partnership with Betabytes (official Nvidia cloud partner), Project Atlas (Advance Tokenized Liquefied AI Stack) functions as a Sobringed Grade AI Data Center. This is one of several initiatives under the broader IOPN ecosystem, including Digital Financial Infrastructure, RWA Tokenization, and AI Academy & AI Factory.
Meanwhile, Amer Al Osh, chief development officer at Gewan Holding, said the collaboration will provide an infrastructure model that “enhances digital sovereignty and unleashes new economic opportunities.” OSH added that the partnership will also allow the UAE to continue setting benchmarks for innovation in the era of AI and Web3.
IOPN CEO Mojtaba Asadian described the OPN chain as the cornerstone of a unified ecosystem for sovereign identity, financial infrastructure and AI-driven innovation. “With support from NG9 Holding and initiatives like Project Atlas, we are building a sovereign-grade digital infrastructure that will enable nations to access AI and Web3 on their own terms,” he said.
Meanwhile, the news release also revealed that Gewan Holding launched the Gewan AI Hub to promote AI adoption across the industry. This initiative complements the UAE’s broader digital transformation strategy and strengthens the central role of the IOPN ecosystem.
Gewan Holding and IOPN aim to deploy the UAE as a gateway for sovereign AI and blockchain solutions. Additional initiatives under Project Atlas are expected to be announced in the coming months, the release said.
