Decentralized exchange (DEX) Hyperliquid announced on Discord that 1.2 million HYPE tokens belonging to Hyperliquid Labs will be unstaked today and distributed to team members on January 6th.
The statement also revealed that similar distribution will be carried out on the 6th of every month in the future.
In response to this development, HYPE price fell only during the day. According to market data, HYPE is trading at $25.27 at the time of writing, down 1.08% over the past 24 hours. The token reached an all-time high of $59.39 on September 18, 2025, and an all-time low of $3.20 on November 29, 2024. Based on current prices, HYPE is approximately 57% below its peak.
The chart shows a limited decline in HYPE price recently.
The maximum supply of tokens is 961 million tokens, but there are currently 339 million HYPE tokens in circulation before tokens are unlocked.
Hyperliquid has become one of the most popular decentralized cryptocurrency platforms in 2025. Although reaching all-time high price records before the general recession, HYPE fell out of the limelight with the general decline.
