Sender’s identity
Whale Alert claims that the sender’s identity is unknown, but on-chain data suggests that the transaction is an internal transfer between two Coinbase wallets.
Such trading is common among exchanges. These trading platforms typically shuffle funds between wallets to manage liquidity and enhance security.
It is worth mentioning that Coinbase launched its transmit wallet “RPE…Azu” on April 11, 2025. Since then, I have received XRP from multiple sources, including other Coinbase-related addresses.
After receiving over 2953 million XRP in over 40 transactions, the exchange moved today’s funds to “ruj…8ln” leaving a balance of 10 xRP ($21.6).
Apparently, the recipient address corresponds to the user’s withdrawal request. Since receiving 2953 million XRP, nearly 28 million XRP has been paid to multiple wallet addresses in over 100 transactions. At the time of pressing, the balance was 1.55 million XRP, which is currently equivalent to $3.34 million XRP.
Meanwhile, this transaction comes when Coinbase prepares to launch an XRP futures contract on the platform. The exchange aims to list contracts for trading next week by April 21, 2025.
Ripple sends 70m XRP to an unknown wallet
Before the Coinbase transaction, Whale Alert highlighted another major XRP movement in the past day. The Crypto Tracking service reported on April 14 at 8:08pm UTC that an unknown whale had moved $150.3 million worth of money to another unidentified wallet worth $150 million.
Data from Bithomp shows that Ripple was active at 70 million XRP in the send wallet – ‘RP4…XV3’. This wallet is involved in several ripple related transactions. The latest in such transactions occurred on April 11, 2025 when they received 200 million XRP from the encryption giant.
As previously reported, XRP community figure XRP_LIQUITITY suggested that it could be used for several purposes, including providing liquidity in exchange funds, meeting ODL client requirements, and supporting XRP-related exchange-sales products (ETPs).
Among these transactions, XRP sat comfortably above the $2 price mark, with asset trading at $2.16 per coin. It is currently up 11.66% over the past seven days, up 31.69% from its low on April 7th.
